MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

 Networking

Networking activities will provide opportunities to interact with others who share your commitment to lifelong learning.  Council members represent a cross section of community agencies and adult educators within Parkland County.  The Council also provides a link with other community adult learning councils and adult education associations across Canada.

Resource Sharing

Council members share ideas, facility space, materials, equipment, instructors, and their own expertise.

 Collective Advertising

Council members can participate in cooperative advertising, promotion and referral.  The Council coordinates The Learning Curve, a monthly full-page ad in the Reporter/Examiner that lists upcoming courses and events.  Through your Council membership, you can collaborate with other members to reduce advertising costs and expand your market.

Professional Development

Council meetings and special sessions provide current information on adult education, leadership , and personal development.  Members can access Council subscriptions to various adult education publications.  Your membership provides notification of professional development opportunities and reduced rates on Council sponsored seminars.

Partnerships

Council members can partner to help offset the costs of providing courses, workshops, and training sessions that address priority community learning needs.

Who Can Belong to the Council?

Any organization, institution, business, or citizen who believes in the worth of community adult learning can apply for membership.  The Council generally maintains a membership of 20 organizations that meet at least four times a year to share information, identify community needs from their perspective, plan cooperative programs that encourage life-long learning, and to continue to learn themselves.

Membership Fees

Tri-Community Adult Learning Association has two membership options.  You are invited to join the Council as a General Member (voting privileges) or an Associate Member.

Please call Brenda at 780-963-7406 to discuss which option best suits your needs.

We welcome your ideas, your expertise and your enthusiasm for learning as contributions to our network.
